By accessing and using DeepGuard's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1.1 Account Terms

• You must be 13 years or older to use this Service.
• You must provide a valid email address for account registration and verification.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and credentials.
• You are responsible for all content submitted and all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

1.2 Acceptable Use

DeepGuard is a video authenticity and misinformation analysis platform. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes including journalism, research, media verification, and personal content verification. You may not submit content for the purpose of harassing, defaming, or targeting individuals, or use analysis results to make defamatory claims about any person or organization.

1.3 API Terms

• API usage is subject to rate limits based on your subscription plan. The default rate limit is 60 requests per minute per API key.
• You may not share your API credentials with third parties.
• API keys must be kept confidential. If a key is compromised, you are responsible for revoking and regenerating it immediately via your account settings.
• We reserve the right to revoke API access for any violation of these terms.
• API keys carry the same plan-level model access as the owning account. A free plan API key cannot access research or premium tier models.

1.4 Submitted Content

• You retain ownership of all video content you submit for analysis.
• By submitting content you grant DeepGuard a limited, non-exclusive license to process and analyze that content solely for the purpose of delivering the Service to you.
• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to submit any content for analysis.
• DeepGuard does not use your submitted content to train AI models.

1.5 Input Limits

Maximum video duration: 30 minutes for all plans. Videos exceeding this limit will be rejected before any quota is consumed.

1.6 Payment Terms

• All paid plans require valid payment information on file.
• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe.
• Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the Customer Portal accessible from your account settings.
• Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.

2.1 Contract Formation

• By completing a transaction, you make a binding offer to enter into a contract with DeepGuard.
• You can review all information before completing the transaction.
• The contract is concluded upon successful processing of your payment.
• Order confirmation will be sent to your registered email address upon successful payment.

2.2 Consumer Rights and Digital Content

2.3 Subscription Management

• Paid subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled.
• You will be charged at the start of each new billing period.
• Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from your account settings. No need to contact support.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access until that date.
• There are no refunds for unused portions of a subscription period.

2.4 Teams Subscriptions

• Team subscriptions are purchased and managed by the team owner.
• The team owner is solely responsible for the subscription, payment, and seat count.
• Each team member operates under their own individual usage quota. Quotas are not pooled across members.
• All team members share access to detections submitted within the team workspace.
• Ownership of a team must be transferred before the current owner can leave. Leaving without transferring ownership is not permitted.
• If a team owner's subscription lapses, a 7-day grace period applies before the entire team is downgraded. All members are affected simultaneously.

2.5 Grace Period on Downgrade

When a paid subscription ends through cancellation, non-renewal, or payment failure, a 7-day grace period applies before the account reverts to the Free plan. During this period you retain full access to your current plan. On day 8, the account reverts to Free and quota counters are reset. Custom quota overrides are removed.

2.6 Refund Policy

• Contact us within 14 days of purchase for refund eligibility at support@deepguardtech.com.
• Refund requests received after 14 days will not be processed.
• Technical problems preventing service delivery may result in a refund or service credit at our discretion.

3.1 Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address
• Usage data: detections submitted, models used, quota consumption
• Payment information: processed and stored by Stripe — DeepGuard does not store card details
• Submitted video content: retained according to the data retention schedule below
• Device and browser information & IP addresses

3.2 Data Retention

Publicly shared detections are subject to the same retention schedule as private ones. Making a detection public does not exempt it from purge.

3.3 Third Parties

• Stripe: payment processing
• Appwrite: database, authentication, and file storage
• Resend: transactional email delivery

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

• Essential cookies: required for authentication and core functionality — cannot be disabled
• Analytics cookies: help us understand how the Service is used and where it can be improved
• Preference cookies: remember your settings such as theme and language
